When you purchase a retail bridal gown it is recommended to have some kind of alterations to your wedding dress to ensure the perfect fit.
Sometimes these will be small tweaks to the length of the hemline or it could be larger changes like adding or removing sleeves. Alteration magic will ensure every detail of your gown is tailored to perfection.
Bridal Alterations Tips
We recommended booking wedding dress alterations 4-8 weeks before the wedding. The alterations take around 2 weeks. Usually, you need 2 appointments to bring the dress and to collect it. However, in some situations can be one appointment more.
The shoes you plan to wear on your wedding day are essential, as they will affect how you stand in your dress and the length of your dress. Please remember to bring them along to every fitting appointment.
If you plan on wearing specific underwear, please bring them to your fitting appointments. We also stock a full range of cups which can be sewn on directly into the bust of your dress.
We have a stunning collection of bespoke veils. You can try on as much as you like during your appointment with us.
During your first fitting, a bridal dressmaker/seamstress who specializes in wedding dresses will pin your wedding gown. We will then give you a quote for all of the alterations required. If you are happy to proceed we will schedule a date for your second fitting.
The appointment will take no longer than an hour.

Price of Bridal Alterations
We can give you a price for bridal dress alterations after seeing the dress in reality. However, you can download a general Price Guide.
If you would like a rough quote, please send me some photos of your dress and a description of what work needs doing, the exact cost will be determined at your first fitting. It is best to budget around £150-£350 price mark. If your dress has lacework/beadwork that needs to be removed before alterations this is where the price increases.
